From June 13 to 16, the Palafox Team conducted a series of workshops in collaboration with the Municipality of San Miguel, Bulacan for the formulation of their Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), Zoning Ordinance (ZO), and Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) 2021-2030. With a total of 60 participants —  including municipal heads, the Technical Working Group, the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Captains, and other representatives of the Municipality — the activities were held at the new Multi-Purpose Building in Sta. Rita Bata

There were a total of six workshops of which four were related to the CLUP, while the remaining two were for the CDP. These included: 

• Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA) Workshop: This centered on the discussion regarding previous disasters that occurred and identifying climate change impacts.
• Goal Setting Workshop: Comprises the formulation of sectoral goals, objectives, outcomes, and outputs
• Scoring of the Spatial Development Framework: Through this, the participants assessed the strategic development framework based on the criteria provided.
• Formulation of Land Use Plan: Validation of the land use classifications in the barangay level 
• Identification of Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs): Participants listed down essential PPAs based on San Miguel's 2030 Vision
• Prioritization of the PPAs: At this point, an urgency test was completed to determine the “urgency or need” of each project identified. The Technical Working Group also gave scoring weights on the development sectors, which will be the basis of the prioritization.

Aside from the workshops, the Palafox team presented to the Sangguniang Bayan of San Miguel the current developments of the project as well as the Spatial Development Framework of the Municipality. The team also met with Municipal Mayor Roderick Tiongson who discussed the projects that are aligned with the development framework. 

The team is almost at the tail end of the project as the next phase is the finalization of the Land Use Plan, Zoning Ordinance and drafting of the CDP. We at Palafox are looking forward to completing all these plans and reports to assist the Municipality of San Miguel in promoting continuous sustainable growth and development for its communities.
