The PHITEX Educational Program Talk was held on October 18, 2022, as one of the highlights of the 21st Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX), the largest government-organized travel trade event in the country. With the theme “Embracing Responsible Tourism: Making Better Places for People to Live In and Better Places for People to Visit,” PHITEX 2022 was held from October 18 to 20, 2022.

The event was organized by the Tourism Promotions Board, the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism, and was conducted using a hybrid format held both online and physically at the Marriott Manila Hotel. 

Architect Felino Palafox, Jr. was among the keynote speakers invited to discuss certain topics related to tourism within the country. Arch. Palafox shared his personal insights on the topic “Creating Estate Living in Rural Areas” and discussed potential tourism estate development in rural communities.

Following the numerous changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism sector in the country faced many challenges and has gone through necessary changes in order to adapt and steadily recover. The future of Philippine tourism is full of hope and opportunities with our wealth of travel attractions and destinations and our pursuit of sustainable tourism.
