Davao City, September 28, 2024 – In a collaborative effort to champion environmental sustainability and support local communities, PALAFOX Cebu and Davao Teams, together with the Philippine Navy Reservists and representatives from Barangay Bunawan, conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on coastal clean-up and mangrove planting. The event took place in Calderon, Barangay Bunawan, Davao City, benefiting the coastal communities in the area.
The initiative will benefit 700 households living along the coast of Barangay Bunawan. The team planted a total of 145 mangrove seedlings. This effort contributes to restoring coastal ecosystems, enhancing biodiversity, and creating natural barriers that help protect against erosion and storm surges. Mangroves also provide a vital habitat for marine life and support the livelihoods of local communities. At the same time, volunteers collected numerous sacks of garbage from the coastal area, helping to improve the cleanliness and health of the local environment.
This initiative reflects PALAFOX’s strong commitment to empowering local communities, sustainability — a core value that guides our operations — and our deep care for preserving the beauty and health of the environment. The collaboration also highlights the importance of public-private partnerships to create meaningful, lasting impacts for future generations.
