On August 27, 2021, the Master Plan for the Leyte Ecological Industrial Zone was presented to the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) by Palafox Associates. This was held to identify the next steps that need to be taken by the Philippine Board of Investments, the RTWG, and the National Technical Working Group for the implementation and realization of the master plan. 

The event was hosted by the Philippine Board of Investments. Palafox Associates presented the highlights of the master plan including its social and economic benefits and how the project will serve as an economic driver not only for the Province of Leyte but also for the entire Eastern Visayas Region.

During the meeting, member agencies and organizations were grouped into different subcommittees to tackle the various developmental aspects of the plan — social, economic, and environmental aspects, among others. These subcommittees will identify the essential steps for their corresponding sectors and will recommend subsequent and more detailed studies such as feasibility studies and engineering studies, to name a few. These will ultimately lead to the realization of the proposed ecological industrial zone.

Palafox will continue to assist the Philippine Board of Investments by joining them in presenting the LEIZ project to various stakeholders. We at Palafox are proud to be part of this landmark project — the Philippines’ first ecological zone — and look forward to its realization.
