As part of the ongoing consultancy services for the Formulation of a Tourism Circuit Development Study Package for the Cordilleras, the Palafox team recently visited existing and emerging farm tourism sites, cultural sites, and health and wellness sites in the Cordillera Administrative Region. This was conducted to assess the readiness of the sites to accept visitors as the tourism industry in the Philippines steadily resumes. In addition, the footage and clips taken in these different locations will be used for the audio-visual presentation for the Cordillera Tourism Circuit.
In total, from April 26 to May 3, 2022, the team was able to visit the following sites:
Every site offers a variety of fresh and organic products such as heirloom rice, potatoes, cabbage, dragon fruit, grapes, oranges, apples, strawberries, lanzones, coffee beans, and textiles, among others. Most of the sites also offer training on organic farming. Among the main objectives of this study is to promote the Cordilleras’ tourist destinations and ensure that these are preserved and sustainably managed, so even future generations can immerse in the region’s vast natural resources, beauty, and wonder.
